What is the Genesis Program?

The Genesis Project teaches individuals how to identify a gap in the market by seeking to solve critical problems and encourage innovative entrepreneurial solutions. The UCT Genesis Program unlocks this potential by linking critical business skills, insights and networks. This combination of building blocks creates the ultimate entrepreneur.

 

The Genesis Project forms the framework of the honours-level Postgraduate Diploma. Unique for its hands-on approach, students are encouraged to get out of the classroom and into the real world by launching and managing their own start-up businesses throughout the year.

After networking sessions hosted through the University at the beginning of the academic year, the respective businesses formed by students within the course. The course provides invaluable hands-on experience and business management practices with students encouraged to adopt the Lean Start-up Approach in order to maximize on this experiential learning opportunity.
